All children deserve to have professional portraits, including your tiny spitfire. Some sessions are meticulously posed, some are more natural. It varies based on your children as individuals and what we’re looking to capture. Additionally, please let us reassure you: the shutter of the camera is only open for 1/250th of a second and we’re experts at working with moving targets.

Don’t panic! We would hate for you to plan this big exciting experience and then have that, of course, be the one day that your little one has a “bad day.” Some children benefit from taking a few moments away from being photographed to play or get it out of their system and can return feeling refreshed and ready to go. You know when your little one is DONE, OVER IT, BUH-BYE though, and we can probably tell, too. If we still aren’t back at it after about 15 minutes, the session will be called for the day. Depending on how far into the session your child makes it, you may be offered a day to come in for a complimentary reshoot, but you’d be surprised just how many beautiful portraits can be created even during a session that’s cut short.

At this time, POSE PGH does not offer newborn sessions. Newborn photography is such a science and specialized skillset in and of itself. In order to get the most out of your session, it is recommended to wait until your baby is able to sit up and support their body weight.

This can vary a little bit seasonally, but as a rule, you'll want to inquire about booking your session about 2 months ahead of the date you'd actually like to have the session on. The earlier the better!
